This is a great spot to watch the Ireland
ferries passing between the Lighthouse and the
Island of Ailsa Craig.
814 - the Northern Lighthouse Board decided
a light was needed at the entrance of Loch Ryan
in Galloway, and one on the Point of Ayre on
the Isle of Man.
Robert Stevenson designed the Lighthouse
with work begining in late 814.
1994 - Corsewall Lighthouse was automated
with it now being controlled from
Edinburgh.
The automation of the Lighthouse led to the
rest of the building being sold to serve as a
Hotel.
