The Dewar's Aberfeldy Whisky Distillery is
31 miles northeast of Perth in
Scotland, 1 mile east of Aberfeldy.
This Distillery can be visited throughout
the year free of charge for the shop and cafe
bar. There are also a number of Tours that can
be taken ranging in price. Postcode: PH15

The Distillery has a large shop with a wide
range of Whisky from this Distillery and its
Sister Distilleries, Souvenirs, and a Cafe /
Bar. You can also fill a personal bottle
straight from a barrel.
Dewar's Aberfeldy Distillery produces Single
Malt, mainly for blending with less expensive
Grain Whisky, 3 to 25 years old, from £13 per
bottle.
Dewar's is mainly a Blended Whisky with much
of the Malt Whisky used in the Blending from
this Aberfeldy Distillery and Dewar's
Distillery in Craigellachie / Speyside. The
Craigellachie Distillery does not allow
visitors.

Aberfeldy Single Malt is matured mainly in
ex Bourbon Barrels between 12 and 31 years, £43
to £2,500 per bottle.

Dewar's Aberfeldy Distillery History
1846 - Dewar's whisky brand was created by
John Dewar in 1846.
1890s - Dewar's had become a leading brand
around the World.
1896 - the Aberfeldy Distillery was founded
by the John Dewar & Sons.
1917 to 1919 - the Distillery was closed
down during World War I.
1925 - Dewar's merged with the Distillers
Company.
1940s - the Second World War also led to the
Distillery being closed down for a few
years.
1972 - the Distillery was enlarged with four
new steam heated stills installed.
1986 - Distillers Company was taken over by
Guinness.
1997 - Guinness merged with Grand
Metropolitan forming Diageo.
1998 - Bacardi bought Dewar's.
1999 - an Aberfeldy 12 Year Old Single Malt
brand was produced.
2000 - the Earl of Elgin opened the Dewar's
World of Whisky visitor centre at the Aberfeldy
Distillery.
