The Aberdeen to Ballater Railway Line was
completed in 1856 by the Deeside Railway
Company.
With the Railways having lost most of their
trade to Cars, Buses and Trucks by the 1960s,
this line closed in 1966.
The Line for the Vintage Trains is about 1
mile long, with work ongoing on an extension.
You can also book Stream Train Driving
Lessons.
Next to the Royal Deeside Railway is
Milton of
Crathes, restored 1600s buildings now used
as a Brasserie,
Art, Craft and Retail
Shops.
The entrance to Crathes
Castle is across the Main Road, with the
Castle open for visits much of the year.
