Aviemore has turned into a top Resort with
many Attractions such as: Go Karting, Vintage Train Ride,
and Brewery in the
Town.
Around Aviemore there is Mountain Hiking,
Climbing, Skiing, two Water Sports Centres on
different lochs, Biking, Quads, and practically
every type of outdoor activity and attraction

The Town has a good selection of Hotels,
B&Bs, Self Catering, Holiday Parks, and
Lodge Parks to accommodate the vast numbers of
visitors to the area.
Lairig Ghru is
the top Hill Pass for Walking in Scotland,
running between Aviemore and Braemar, 28
miles through the Cairngorm Mountains.

Regular trains run between Edinburgh, Glasgow
and Inverness, stopping here.
The Strathspey Railway
Steam Train runs from Aviemore certain days
all year to Boat of Garten 6 miles north,
and Broomhill 10 miles north.

Macdonald Hotel across the road from the Rail
Station, and below that, the Cairngorm Hotel,
also across the road from the Station.
Aviemore Main Street / Grampian Road, runs
right through the centre of Town with a good
selection of shops, many for outdoor

The image right is of Aviemore Beach at Loch
Morlich, 6 miles southeast of Aviemore. Regular
buses run between Aviemore and Cairn Gorm
Mountain, passing Loch Morlich. The loch has a
number of attractions such as a Water Sports Centre, Reindeer Centre,
Glenmore Visitor
Centre, and large Camping park.
The Reindeer Centre has a number of Reindeer
at the centre, and many more up in the hills.
You can visit the centre, and at times, take
Tours up into the hills to view or feed the
main herd.
The main attraction at Aviemore is the
4,085ft Cairngorm Mountain, 11 miles
southeast. The mountain has a train that runs
up to a visitor centre at 3,500ft. Regular
buses run between Aviemore and the Mountain.
This train stopped operating in 2018 for
repairs, it is expected to re-open in the
second half of 2022.
